Roundtrip: Define another waypoint along the route as start *and* end at the same time

Here’s a problem I don’t see a good solution for.

Consider a longer roundtrip route, for instance downloaded from GPX data created
by a friend. Such a roundtrip has start and end at some point of the loop at the
same coordinates.

Assuming the friend’s trip started at some point A, but I’m now at some other
point B along the route (e. g., in a hotel) some 100 km away. What I’d like
to do now is to drive the entire roundtrip, but with start and end point
moved to B. The idea being to drive the entire route, just starting from
some other point along the route.

So I’d like to open the route in kurviger.de or in the app, then define a waypoint
near B as start and end point at the same time, while the original start/end A
gets converted into a normal waypoint.

I’m at a loss how to do that. Neither the website at kurviger.de, nor the
app seem to allow just moving start/end of a roundtrip to another waypoint
along the route. I only can change either start or end, both actions
kind of deleting parts of the original route. I can’t find a way to move start
and end at the same time, so that the original roundtrip stays intact, just
with another start/end point.

Is that possible and I just didn’t see the functionality? Or, if that’s not
possible, would it be much of a problem to add that?

Thanks,
Corinna

Hello Corinna, if I have understood you correctly, your “friend” https://kurv.gr/8sCvR, as an example, is in Luttmersen and you in Rethem? But instead of Luttmersen you want to start with you? Then I would set a new point (2) https://kurv.gr/D7U8G and click on this point with links, then you can change it to start or finish https://kurv.gr/P4pc7. Now add a target with a right click… https://kurv.gr/C9kdU. Was that right? My English is unfortunately not like that…

Hmm, ok, so to move start/end, I have to create 2 new waypoints on the route
near my location and then define one of them as start and the other one as end.
That works, after a fashion. I tried this in the past and sometimes the route
changed, but I can’t reproduce this at the moment. It would be nice if one
could just move start/end at the same time on roundtrips, though.

It’s correct that the above-mentioned procedure will possibly change the route.
I’d just drive off. Being exactly on the route - fine. If not I’ll get “route missed” and then head for the closest waypoint. Up to this waypoint there can be deviations from the planned route. Now I drive the first part of the route to my destination. There I reload the tour and drive the second part of the route from the start (=destination) to my original starting point.
For “refinement” (if the nearest waypoint is far away) a waypoint can be set exactly on the route in the immediate near of the current position, which then serves as pseudo-start (part 1) and later as pseudo-finish (part 2).
