Position of the menu buttons

While riding I use a RAM mount X-grip on my bike. When my smartphone is mounted on it, I hardly can use the menu buttons since they are too close to the edge and too small. The x-grip rubber prevents this. Since the gps position anyway doesn’t start too close to the bottom of the screen, is it possible to optionally (via a setting) place these menu buttons centrical/axial on the bottom of the screen and make the touch areas broader?

Do you mean have them horizontally like when the device is in landscape mode?

Problem is that in portrait mode, there is not enough space to fit 3+3 buttons at each side in a different orientation.

yes like in landscape mode…
it can even be two rows and centered, so 3 close to the bottom and 3 above…

then even the free space (and to my opinion wasted space) under the gps position would be better used.

if this is optionally done via a setting (in case other users don’t like that), this would perfectly help on my problem. I am sure when others also use the x-grip, they have the same problem and maybe not thought about the inconvenience…
