Neue "POI" in den Karten - wo kommen die her?

Hallo,

Wo kommt das her?

VG
juschka

P.S.: Die neuen Höhenangabe ist super!

Doesn’t seem to have changed anything on map POI recently.

Can you update your map files from our server and try again?

Also can you mention what map files show that behavior and at what locations?
Can use the menu Tools | Go to to get the map coordinates and zoom level.

Nice to hear that! :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll try it with new cards tomorrow.
Here are two screenshots for your information.
Both are from “germany” - and in this example it was on a trip back from office to munich.
The screenshots are from munich: (Latitude 48:8:27:294 - Longitude: 11:24:49:2192) and Planegg (48:6:21:0924 - 11:25:26:9508)

Zoomlevel is fixed because automatic is not really fine for me (to large views). In the screenshot the zoom level is named 17 (?).

But it’s not relevant where - today we were on a trip down Munich to alpes: that’s the same…

Best regards
Juschka

Try zoom level 16 and your POIs disappear.

You should really give the new-auto-zoom-feature a try
Auto-zoom has improved since 1.1.19 significantly.
see changelog

In Einstellungen -> Navigation -> Auto-Zoom you can set min zoom-level and max zoom-level
I have set max to 16 and min to 14.

Thanks for the nice discussion. We show names for other POIs than the selected ones on high zoom levels. Our assumption was that on these high zoom levels, there should not be too many labels at once, and that this won’t distract the navigation / route planning, but can be rather helpful. For example you want to meet at supermarket XY in some town, now you can use the map in addition to geocoding to search for the supermarket.

Danke juschka

Hi everyone,

Cannot understand clearly the details of the discussion. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nothing should have changed on map appearance, so there isn’t anything to revert.
We usually add options, not remove anything, so everything should work as always.
And everybody can adjust those options and navigation via the numerous settings.

Or mean something different?

The discussion is about the names of POIs on zoom-level>=17. Juschka finds them distracting during navigation and asks if we could remove them.

We could think about making it configurable.

I think this is a good idea. During the last few versions of the Kurviger app more and more features became configurable, so that everyone can adjust the app to fit his personal requirements. In my opinion this is the best solution.

Maybe similar to house numbers !

@juschka10001 is there anything outside Kurviger that could have changed?
Could something have changed the display resolution of your phone?
E.g. some power settings of Samsung are doing this!
Edit:
What are your current settings under Einstellungen->Navigation->Auto-Zoom?
Could you post a screenshot?

Manfred

That’s available since 1.1.18 via menu Map | Map layers. :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t know or in other words: I didn’t realised some changes by Android or Samsung (but that will not say, that’s couldn’t happen). I can’t import a screenshot here, because I’m on the notebook actually.
I didn’t see that detailed information in the offline maps at beginning of this year. In this case I would have named it immediately  . Also I can’t remember last year, and I think I’m using Kurviger now for more than 20 000km with the pro version.

I’m using the fixed autozoom since it’s existing because of my goggles - with no change on my side.
If this detailed information in the maps could be activated/deactivated, this would be fine. It’s really the first time, I have the feeling, that I’m not able to adopt your changes in my daily work.

Best regards
juschka

Hi Juschka,
fixed autozoom does not exist any more.
IIRC when updating to V1.19 I noticed that the default zoom level has changed from 16 to 17.
That’s why I wanted to know your detailed settings in
Einstellungen -> Navigation -> Auto-Zoom

Manfred

Really? Very nice! :motorcycle:

I’m now testing zoom-level 15 and 17.
But my problem is/was without the autozoom, using the fixed level that finally I’ve zoomed it directly on the map, so that I don’t know how I’ve changed it .

Thanks juschka

Yeah
Including some short trips to austria, italy and suisse - and also with two large summer trips, both more than 4000km (one to czech, slovakia, hungary, austria - and the other one suisse-italy-france and back).

So I’ve really tested a lot and mostly each development helps…but in the case of auto zoom :frowning:

juschka

Copying from Kurviger 1.1.19 announcement:

Auto zoom options were revised, allowing now to select the min and max zoom levels.
Set different zoom levels for Dynamic mode or set same zoom levels for Fixed mode.

Now the available settings are extremely detailed so can adjust your preferences. :slightly_smiling_face:
