Kurviger 2.0.11 (Beta)

What Android version?

8.1 and 9. In 10 I did not test (Tablet)

I cannot understand what you ask and why you need app folders.

Apps usually create private folders in Android/data after start.
They are for their private use and not to be handled by the users.
Android is increasingly restricting access to such storage folders.

You should store maps / routes / bookmarks in the public folders.

Normaly I do so. I used this folder backup in the past. Maps are always on sdcard. Just the bookmarks was in the folder.

You are right since we can safe the settings.

Or is it because i haven’t any subscription yet? Can i try the trial?
Going to Google maps is extremely important to me since i check streetview that way

This function is also available outside the subscription.
Anyway there is a 7 days free trial.

Again, we can not reproduce what you report.
You can try to uninstall / reinstall the application.

When no one else can reproduce it, it is probably related to a setting on your device.

Does crosshair mode become active after tapping “Show on Google maps”?

Just to be sure: Is Google Maps app installed on your device?

With crosshair you mean the visor sign to select the right spot? Yes it becomes visible. I do have Google maps: it works perfectly with kurviger 1 Pro. When selecting ‘show on openstreetmap.org’ i can select different apps to open. With ‘show on Google maps’ it directly goes to Google maps on kurviger 1. But on kurviger 2 i don’t even get a selection. Nothing happens. I’ll try to remove the app and reinstall it

Tried removing and reinstalling but no improvement. Should i also remove kurviger 1 Pro?

They are different apps, using the same code, this function must always work.
It just asks Android to show the app selection dialog with the compatible apps.

We can not know why it suddenly does not work on your device,
since it works fine everywhere else.

Can you try a different device?
What Android and device is it?

It’s weird. I cannot confirm this behavior on my devices. Kurviger 2 is the same as Kurviger 1: both “Show on OSM” and “Show on Google Maps” work the same - they activate the crosshair and then give you the choice of the application. Maybe you should clear some default actions in the system?

Wir haben hier mindestens zwei verschiedene Themen.
Deswegen meine zwei Bitten, das zu trennen:

  1. Thema “Preispolitik”,

Danke!

We have at least two different topics here.
That’s why I have two requests to separate them:

  1. topic “pricing policy”,
  2. topic “Kurviger 2.0.7” and problems with it or suggestions about it.

Therefore can you please
a) separate topic (1) and make an own thread, and
b) stay as factual and appreciative as possible and avoid all polemics?
Thanks!

Same here, the “new link” only forwards me to my existing beta tester profile.

Also ich komme ĂŒber den “New Link” trotzdem weiterhin nur zur 1.x Beta

There is the App: Switch to pay-as-you-go licensing topic.

We can keep this topic.

  • This was the old Beta link for the previous Kurviger 1 Pro Beta program

  • Please use the new Beta link for the new Kurviger 2 Beta program
(also mentioned in the announcement and updated instructions)

You need to install Kurviger free app, its version will change to 2 when is updated to Beta.

After the Beta registration you should be patient as Google mentions:
“Note: It can take a while for you to receive the update.”

I have a Samsung S21. With kurviger 1 it jumps directly to Google maps, no choice of apps (i must have set it to always go to Google maps at some time. With kurviger 2 nothing happens after the crosshair. Very strange. If i knew how to undo the automatic app selection i would give this a go.

This is probably handled in Android “Settings | Apps” for the Google Maps app.
(look for “Open by default”)

Found! Maps itself was not set as default anywhere in the settings. But the ‘open supported links’ was not on ‘always ask’. I switched it to ‘always ask’ and now it works. Thanks
