Kurviger 1.12.3 (Beta)

I had foreseen this answer!

There is no need to change the service while driving.
Simply decide what mode want to use before go out.
Does anyone change the map provider while driving?

Automatic rerouting remains automatic.
If want manual rerouting, can disable it.
If want forced offline routing, can select it.

Can check it in the two announcements and its own topic:

What offline maps? Offline maps are for view maps.
Each offline router requires its own routing data set.

None app is perfect! :slightly_smiling_face:

Like mentioned too many times, we start with simple things.
If someone doesn’t like how a feature work, is free to skip it.
Or wait patiently for future improvements, cannot satisfy all!

A post was merged into an existing topic: App: BRouter offline routing

Understood and use brouter as alternative interface already on 1 device as a preparation for next Kurviger version. Is there a chance to also build an optical and vocal indicator that tells which method is actually used for route calculation? Especially in Beta mode this would help to identify which of the new options suit better to the personal needs.

When will select one of the routing services in settings, then know exactly which is in use.

And “combination” mode is mostly useful in navigation, where the “fastest” rerouting is partial and merged with the existing curvy route.

Kurviger 1.12.1 (Beta) is on Google Play (instructions):

- Navigation: routing service option (Pro)

You can select explicitly the routing service among:

  • Kurviger (online)
    GraphHopper (offline)
  • Kurviger (online)
  • GraphHopper (offline)

Available in “Settings | Routing | Routing service”.

- Navigation: speed based auto zoom (Pro)

An implementation of speed based auto zoom is available, blended with visible distance factor and limited by min/max user options.

Available in “Settings | Navigation | Auto zoom mode”.

- Import: open kurviger files as overlays

You can now open kurviger files with all available modes, as overlays and / or for routing.

- App: info screen for loaded data (Pro)

A detailed info for all loaded map and routing data can appear on demand.

Available in menu “Tools | Info”.

I just installed the latest beta. If I start curvy after that, it crashes immediately. I have a Xiaomi Mi 9t pro.

There is not anything relevant in Google Play console, so cannot know what happens.
You can try uninstall and reinstall it and submit a report if Android opens some dialog.

I can’t start this latest version on my Huawei P20 Pro. Only a shortly flickering display then the app closes immediately (no dialog or error message). There’s definitely something wrong with this version.

The new version works in S8+ and S9+ without any problem… Maybe the Problem ist because the offline graphs are not installed?

That’s strange, in all my devices it works fine too…

Nevertheless Google Play console now shows a report, so I can release soon an improved version.

Thanks everyone for reporting that!

Kurviger 1.12.2 (Beta) is on Google Play (instructions):

1.12.2 is working even on my old Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.3
1.12.1 was crashing there.
