K3 Beta: Lautstärkenverwaltung / Sound settings

Guten Morgen zusammen,

Was meinst du genau?

Na von weiblich auf männlich umstellen. Das was du beschrieben hattest.

I not fully happy with the sound settings. As always there might be usecases I am not aware of … for discussion.

Currently there is a central setting for sound or no sound.
Dependant on that setting the sound icon is on or off in the navigation. When the sound is changed in the navigation for example from (general) on to off - and the navigation is stopped and restarted, the general settings is applied again. My last decision (sound on or off for the navigation) is not saved.

In other words - I see myself stopping after each break, remove the gloves and switch the sound back to on or off dependant on voice support I need for this route.

In my understanding a setting is more general decision, how the app should behave. If I have no headset at all, I would decide to have no voice support. In consequence, the sound icon in the navigation mode should not be visible at all.

In case I have a headset, I would set in to “on”, the icon should be displayed. And the app should remember my last decision at least for the current route or even when the app is closed.

Yes, I should have mentioned that, sorry. Right now, changes during the navigation are not saved after you stop the navigation. This is something we need to improve in the future.

I think it’s not a complete deal breaker, but something that should be improved in the future .

I like the two different ways for sound on/off.

  • Permanent on/off in the settings.
  • Temporary on/off via the button during navigation.

For your (common) scenario after a break we need a pause navigation feature anyway.
Stopping navigation doesn’t work in K3, because it will guide you to the first waypoint again after restarting navigation.
K3 behaves similar to “strict navigation” in K2.
Well not exactly - AFAIK shaping points can be skipped, via points are mandatory.

Yes exactly, shaping points and other parts of the route can be skipped. Via points can’t be skipped.

I forgot one point from my wishlist.

It would be useful if a message could be spoken everytime the sound is switched on in navigation mode. For example the next routing step, or some other sentence.
This would help to check if the sound works in general and to adjust the volume before the gloves are put on.

Interesting proposal, I like it, thanks, I will put this on our todo list :+1:

Or like K2 does it
Repeat last message, when top on navigation panel.

I think tapping on the speaker symbol is more intuitive and easier to learn. Tapping somewhere else “must” be learned and most hard for me - remembered.

O.k. Danke
