Robin invited me to have a look at this new forum. Of course I’m glad to do that!
Until now I only had the chance to have a short look at it (weather’s fine so it’s better to be on the road instead in front of my PC). But my first impression is: the topics strcuture is way too complicated.
We have “Website”, “App: General”, “App: Navigation”, “App and Website”. This could (and should) significantly reduced. Under “DIscussions” we have “new features” but there’s additionally another topic “Feature Requests and Bug Reports”. This is somehow confusing.
In my opinion there should be the following main topics (instead of “Discussion” and “Feature Requests and Bug Reports”): “Kurviger Website” and “Kurviger Navigation App”. And under both topics there should be: “General discussion”, “Features” and “Bugs”. That’s all (and quite simple).
And I don’t think it’s worth enough to have “Integration with 3rd party applications”. There are not only other application, but also other platforms (im- and exporting route formats) and a bunch of different stand alone navigation devices. I think all the concerning discussions about them would simply fit in “General discussion” (under “Kurviger: Website” or “Kurviger Navigation App” - depending on what kind of action should be performed or integrated).
I think now I should work some time with the new forum. One of the first things I would do: gather all my older ideas which I posted in the Google forum and put them in the “features” discussion. To have a place where all the suggestions to make Kurviger even better.
But after my critics please keep in mind: after all I think it’s a really GOOD IDEA to have this new forum!
