Auto hide map scale like zoom buttons.
I voted for it because I think it will reduce “burn in” (I am thinking about buying a mobile phone with OLED display)
Hi,
I’d like to have an option to always show the map scale at the bottom of the screen. It’s there when i touch the screen, but then disappears. If i use external keys it doesn’t show up at all.
I like to have this so i can always understand the level of detail i see on the map.
I’m guessing this is related to App: Auto hide map scale.
I can see if it can appear with external (zoom) keys too.
It would be nice to always be able to see without touching the screen and any buttons.
Perhaps a configuration on/off option may be required.
I thought it like that in the beginning, but reverted it to avoid the many settings.
Why do you need the map scale to be constantly displayed?
To know in advance the distance you have the bends.
On a road in the woods you don’t see the next curves and you don’t know how far you will find them or the radius of curvature.
Here is more information on what you will find.
And I don’t think it’s a good idea to take your hands off the handlebars to touch the phone on a winding road.
This seems like a valid argument.
Then I can include a setting in the next app update,
also covering the external keys case by @Joost_Bijl.
Works well - and I like that default setting is “off”, so that I have to activate it myself
